Recently, I moderated a discussion for my Young Adult Ministry (shout out to HYAM!) with the theme “Make Room”. Along with my church, many prophetic leaders in the body of Christ have declared 2022 to be the year of abundance and multiple open doors! I believe that this declaration will be true for MANY of us this year! But one thing that came to my mind in January… have I MADE ROOM for the abundance that is going to come into my life??
At the end of 2021, I remember looking around my home… in every single room… and said to myself “ I NEED MORE SPACE!!!!” I had the desire to update my wardrobe and do new things for my home…but I needed to MAKE ROOM!! I began to assess every section of my home, and evaluated what could stay, what I had to let go of, and what needed to be reorganized to make more space!
By the time I was done with my home, I had over 12 BAGS OF CLOTHES AND SHOES that I gave away to charity!! I had more space for the things I wanted to do in 2022!
Do you see where I’m going with this?!? 🙂
To receive the blessings and the abundance that we want this year, we have to MAKE ROOM for it! We have to assess our lives and our hearts, and really evaluate what can stay, what we need to let go of, or what needs to be repositioned!
If you want greater LOVE this year, you may have to let go of unforgiveness or jealousy from your heart to make room for love. If you want better FRIENDSHIPS, you may need to reposition the people in your life to make room for new friends. If you want a better JOB, making room may mean educating yourself and reorganizing your resume in preparation for the new job when that door OPENS for you!!
Make room for the blessings you desire, sis! This week, I challenge you to think about the blessings that you want, or that God has PROMISED YOU this year. Assess your life and your heart and really see where you need to make room for it! Is there anything that’s taking up more space than it needs to? Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you and reveal to you the areas you can make more room for HIM, to receive the abundance that He desires for you to have.
